The program, organized by the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan in partnership with Byte in Libya, aims to empower students to become leaders in climate entrepreneurship. Participants will inherit the credentials needed to design innovative solutions to prevent climate change and consequently render a great impact.

This interactive eight-week program helps students:

Pitch Competition and Study Trip

The very last activity will consist of an entrepreneurial pitch competition, where students will be pitching to a panel of experts. The top-performing teams will win a week-long study trip to Michigan in the fall of 2026, where they will experience Southeast Michigan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through cultural excursions and interactions with entrepreneurs and innovators.

Eligibility Criteria for Climate Entrepreneurship Exchange Program

The program accepts applications from Libyan undergraduates who are interested in taking action on climate change and initiating their own enterprises. The students must be able to demonstrate cross-cultural teamwork skills and be enrolled at the undergraduate level at the time of application.

Program Schedule and Application Deadlines

The Climate Entrepreneurship Exchange Program will run four cohorts:

  • Cohort 1: February – April 2025
  • Cohort 2: September – November 2025
  • Cohort 3: January – March 2026
  • Cohort 4: April – June 2026
